Wonderful For Novice and Experienced Rat Fanciers!
I have read the book The Proper Care Of Fancy Rats (t.f.h.) - repeatedly - and have found the information to be invaluable. It covers basic care, illnesses, varieties and standards, breeding and some of the basics of rat genetics. It also includes a lot of beautiful full color photos. I've read a few other books on rodent care, none of which were as detailed as this (those books all ended up in a used book store). I would HIGHLY suggest that every rat owner purchase this book and keep it handy. Its easy to follow and covers all the bases!

The "Encyclopedia Rattica"
More than just a guide to the proper care of rats, Nick Mays' excellent book is also a history of human-rat relations, an introduction to rat genetics, and a full color guide to many of the breeds of "fancy" rats. Well-written and logically organized, this is the best kind of reference book: both informative and fun to read. Although the book's historical survey of the "rat fancy" concentrates primarily on the United Kingdom, this fascinating story will surely be appreciated by rat lovers throughout the world.Mays not only creates an accurate and affectionate portrait of the domesticated rat, but he also creates a comparable portrait of those rat fanciers who have for generations taken these intelligent and personable creatures into our homes and hearts. This book is a tribute to the strength of the bonds that can exist between members of different species.

Excellent book for fanciers!
The first time I read this book, I was astounded! Mr. Mays is a true expert, presenting the information in an easy to read, clear style. Where other authors have failed, Mr. Mays includes almost everything on breeding, illnesses, and showing. I highly recommend this book to a novice rat owner or shower. Good work, Mr. Mays!

Awesome Cage!!
This cage is excellent!! Plenty spacious for two normal or one dumbo size rat! (I wouldn't stick more than that in) I only put two of the three ramps in to give more space (one to the bottom, one to the top, they have to climb the middle), but even with all three ramps there is ample room! My favorite thing is how easy it is to clean, rat & hand access and to re-arrange to keep them interested! I would recommend this cage to everyone looking for a rat cage! Excellent quality, and I have bought two of them now for my 4 rats!

Great starter cage
I wanted to leave a positive rating for this cage, because I believe its the best investment I made for my 2 adult male ratties. I've had the cage for 6 months.SPACE: This cage can comfortably fit 2 rats (no more). You should always buy rats in pairs, especially if you buy this cage. Its just as easy to take care of two rats as it is one. This cage could NOT hold a third rat.LEVELS: Okay, so these were not build well. They have small plastic wedges that "sit" on the wire bars. It will not support a full grown rat. However, I use large black binder clips and clip the level to the bars from the outside of the cage. Voila, no more issues. The levels have solid bottoms to protect the ratties feet and raised edges to keep things (food, liquid) from dripping/falling down.RAMPS: The ramps are a bit cumbersome, and I wish the levels/platforms were not rounded towards the inside of the cage. The ramps won't fit on the rounded edges, so the ramp more or less...

Pretty good pool float
I used this float all summer last year. It held up well and it's holding air well this year too. When fully inflated, it keeps you truly up and out of the water, so it was really nice to use when the water in the pool hadn't yet warmed up to my preferred temperature. This also means that when it's hot, you're not going to be cooled off as much as if you used a mesh-type float. And, since it's vinyl, you will stick to the surface, especially if it's hot. Very comfortable, though, and great to float around with a cool drink and read!

This is not a Toy...
I don't know why Amazon catagorizes this lounger as a toy for this review, but it's nothing like the cheap $[...] flat floats that you find in discount stores like [...]. I've had mine for a few weeks and absolutely love it! Very comfortable and the cup holders are a real plus, fill two tumblers and float out to the middle of the pool without needing to go inside for a refill so soon. The handles also are a help when bringing it out of the water. There has been one negative which I must mention. So far I've had to add a bit of air twice to keep it as firm as I like it. I just like having it fully inflated each time that I use it (several times a week), so I am a little fussy, probably more so than most people. By far its the best float that I've used.Update 10/16/2009-After a full season of using this float, I can say that it loses very little air if the plug is quite secure after inflating.

I love it!
I have one, & I am going to buy more. I love to sun in the pool with a book and a drink. I dont ever want to be with out one! This is a sturdy floating lounge! This is the best floating lounge I have ever had!!!
